It's spring!! Winters is over, YAY!! Finally we might get some warmer weather!!
Yesterday I walked into a desk and now I have a MASSIVE bump and bruise on my leg. I hardly even touched the desk and now it's to sore to touch!!
After lunch today I had to come home because my stomach was extremely sore. I would have come home earlier but I had my English exam. My stomach is still quite painful but my heat pack seems to be working well.
I'm starting to get some summer clothes for the cruise I'm going on in December!! I'm so excited and I can't wait!! Hopefully I'l be all better by then and be able to enjoy it a lot!!
This weekend I'm have nothing planned but studying and assignment work!! How fun?? I can't wait for the holidays, don't get me wrong I like school and I'm sorta good at it but holidays are 100 times better than school!!
Next Thursday I'm getting re-tested for Blasto since it will be four weeks since I finished the tablets. I'm kinda nervous, kinda excited and I'm not really thinking about it cause I have so so so many other thinhs going on at the moment.
I hope everyone is having a good week and I'm counting down the hours until the weekend!!

10 months!!
Today I have been sick for TEN months!! Ten months ago today was the first time I'd ever had stomach pains and tomorrow ten months ago was the first time I had been to hospital. I can't remember what it's like to not have pain. My new normal is pain. It seems like I've had this for longer than ten months but ten months is a long time.
So far I have been suspected of having appendicitis, crohns, polyps, IBS and heap of other things. I've been diagnosed with Blastocyts. I've seen over 50 different doctors and they all pretty much have no idea what's wrong.
Today I feel pretty good though!! I think I mightn't be gluten free any more!! I have eaten 3 pieces of bread, 1 chocolate croissant, a few crumbed prawns and 2 crumpets today!! They all contain gluten and I've had no reaction whatsoever. Before I would have had really bad pains in less than 10 minutes.
So overall I'm still sick but I'm slowly getting better. I am having really bad nausea every.single.day at the moment, my stomach pain are pretty good, I'm still feeling quite tired and fatigued, I still sometimes feel dizzy and my bowels aren't working but apart from that I'm feeling pretty good. I've still got a long way to get back to my normal self but I'm closer than I was last November.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Mish Mash and the END!!
This post is pretty much what has happened in the last 3 or so weeks because I'm busy lazy, well I have been busy and sick as well. But I'm just getting used to making time to blog and it's not really working how I would like it to but I promise I'll start to try harder from now on.
The END: Well it was a long 10 weeks but I have finally finished my 10 day course of THREE different antibiotics. I was very very very sick Wednesday and Friday night and then on Saturday night I was very sick again. I was almost in hospital but we have Endone here which is a form of morphine and I took that. I had nausea, headaches, very bad bad bad stomach pains, dizziness, aching arms and legs and I felt so tired and exhausted. These antibiotics are meant to get rid of my Blasto but I can't get re-tested for another 3 to 4 weeks!! I don't know how I'll be able to wait that long but hopefully the time will fly by. I know a lot of people have it a lot worse than me so I keep thinking about them to put my situation back in perspective.
I ended up having last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as well as Monday to Thursday this week off school and today I went in for half a day of school. I have SEVEN, yes seven assignments due this term and FIVE exams (and I'm only in year 9) so I am quite behind with everything because I couldn't do any work when I was sick, so I haven't done anything since last Monday night cause I was sick on last Tuesday night. So I have A LOT to do!!
Before starting the antibiotics the doctor recommended that I had 2 colonic washouts to help them work. I was very apprehensive about it so my mum rang the lady and we went in on Friday a few weeks ago so I could see what it was like. I had my appointments the next Monday and Tuesday afternoon. The lady seemed really nice and welcoming so I went ahead and said yes. I arrived on Monday a little nervous but open minded. The insertion was fine and I felt no pain. The water then went quite hot and I told her and she turned it down and it went freezing. It then went freezing cold then boiling hot and I thought it was going to burn me. She had no control over the temperature and she couldn't keep it at a normal temp and was a little bit apologetic. She also answered her mobile phone TWICE during the procedure. The procedure was quite painful and it made my stomach pains really bad and I was crying at stages during the procedure and crying in pain again afterwards. After finishing we went out to pay and I was crying and she wanted to know why, so I told her that I was in lots of pain and I wouldn't be coming back tomorrow for another treatment. She then asked how long I had been sick and asked if I wanted to stay like this for the rest of my life. I am no doctor but she did not know my history, all she new was that I was about to start antibiotics for blasto and a colonic washout was only recommended. She could not provide me with any proof this could help the antibiotics work but my doctor believed it COULD help and that it had helped a few other ladies he had treated. That was 3 ladies that the antibiotics worked and they could have just worked on their own. The colonics lady did not know this. I believe it was not her place to put guilt on me and as we walked out I was so very upset. I am in the middle of writing a letter to the company telling them my experience.
Not last Saturday but the one before that (30 of July) 3 of my besties and my Japanese student (and my mum) were coming home from a little outing and we were driving along a main road at 9pm. We were coming over a hill and we noticed something on the road. At first we thought it was just a pile of clothes but then we realised it was a man!! He was on the right hand lane and we were in the middle lane. As we drove past he got up and danced over to the other lanes of traffic going the other way. He then got hit by a car as we went over the next hill and we didn't see anything after that. One of my friends who saw the most was very shocked and upset and we were all very shaken. We then pulled over and my mother rang the police and told them what we had seen and that she was not prepared to go back there as she had us 5 girls in the car. Well fast forward to last week and the police rang my mum. They told her he was a crazy man and had to be handcuffed just to get him in the ambulance. He's safe and well but he has a long criminal record/history. That was all a bit scary but we are all just fine.
I won my first giveaway today and I was absolutely ecstatic!! It really made me feel so much better and it was a pattern I almost bought a few weeks ago. The pattern is from made but I won it on this blog. I can't wait to start making dresses for me for a cruise we are going on in December and for cute little other girlies I know!!
Well I think thats all I've missed for now. I have to go and start some assignments and watch some TV!!
Have a great weekend!!

Home...sick
Today I was home, sick from school. I woke up after a very disturbed sleep and I had worser (not really sure if that's a word) stomach pains than normal. Every time I moved or sat up my stomach pains got worse so I stayed home.
Tonight I'm feeling a bit better, almost back to my normal stomach pains, which is what I call my 'normal sick' not 'sick sick' just 'normal sick'.
Tomorrow I should be back at school hopefully, I hate missing days of school!!
On another unrelated note I smacked my head yesterday at school on the locker above mine and now have a big lump on my head and a bruise!! It hurt really bad and the lump came up in like 5 seconds!!
Oh and on the weekend our next door neighbours horse was diagnosed (if that is what you call it) with Hendra Virus. This horse was with their other 2 horses that live on their property last week and the owner noticed that it was sick and reported it. It was euthanised on Friday and taken away on Sunday. Their property is now in quarantine and will be for a bit longer (I can't remember exactly how long). A bit scary but everyone seems to be safe!!
Oh and last thing, we have a Japanese student coming on Friday. She is 15 and from Tokyo. She is staying for 2 weeks and goes to school with me everyday!! I don't study Japanese but love hosting the students.

Results
My stool sample that was taken last Friday to see if I still had Blastocysts after my fourth dose of flagyl came back today.
And I still have it!! Yep 4 doses later and I still have Blasto. some of my doctors think it's what is causing my pains and other believe it's totally not related.
My mother has found a clinic in Sydney which believes that Blasto. causes many symptoms I have including dizziness, severe fatigue, concentration issues, weight loss, nausea and of course pain. They have a mixture of drugs that has had many successes with Blasto. sufferers. She has let my GP know about this and he is looking into it but we are hoping to find a doctor in Brisbane who knows about this.
If anyone knows anything about Blasto. could you please let me know??
Thanks Charlotte;)

Disclosure: There is a lot of whining and winging in this post and while I know there is so many people out there that has it so much worse than me I still feel this way sometimes.
This week I haven't really done anything. I've been really sick since Wednesday but it started on Monday and jut got worse. Mum thought it was almost time to go to hospital on Wednesday night. But no hospital trips so far this week...thank goodness!!
But to tell you the truth I'm sick of this, really sick of this. Usually I am only really sick for about 4-5 days so hopefully I'll be back to 'normal sick' again soon but I'm feeling no relief at the moment and can see none coming in the future.
It really sucks being sick, I wanna be out with my friends shopping going to the movies, having sleepovers, going bowling and just having fun with them but instead I'm stuck in bed most of the time because as soon as I stand up my stomach pains get worse and I get really nauseous. I have a lot of different medications to have for these symptoms but none of them really work and most of them I'm not allowed to take that often as they are for temporary pain not chronic pain.
I have done a few little projects that I can do sitting down and hope to share a tutorial for one of them soon!! On Thursday I also went over to one of my friends for a few hours as she was having a sleepover but I was to sick to stay the night and my mum calls thus friend therapy!!
So I have today and tomorrow until school resumes for another 10 WEEKS!!!!! I don't know if I can do it!! I found last term sooo hard and long and it was only 8 weeks!! Oh well I'll try to push through the pain and just try and get on with a normal life!!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

Where I left of..
Well I don't remember the exact details but I remember staying in hospital that night and until about 2am Friday morning I was sent home. Friday I was back at the hospital at 8am I remember getting admitted to hospital and then I remember having an ultrasound that day as the doctors again suspected that I had something wrong with my appendix or had ovarian cysts. Friday night was one of the worst nights I can ever remember and I ended up having fentanyl after having many doses of morphine.
The ultrasound showed nothing but I still had stomach pain so they kept me in over the weekend and said they would re-access me on Monday. By then I had had a blood, urine and feaces test. They all came back on Monday, I think the urine showed nothing, the blood showed elevated white blood cells (I think) and the feaces showed pin worms. The doctor believed that this is what was causing my pains and gave me some medications to treat them and sent me home on Tuesday. I had no syptoms of worms but we had had enough of the hospital so we went home anyway.
I woke up the Wednesday morning vomiting, my mum rang the hospital and they said to bring me up there straight away as this was a new symptom. It was actually just a side effect of the worming tablet that they had forgot to mention and I was told to go home and rest.
The rest of that week I don't think anything major happened but the following Monday I still had the constant stomach pains so we went back to the GP to see what we should do next. He told us to see a paediatrician who sent me to a paediatric gastric surgeon who sent me for a CT scan.
The CT scan showed nothing and so he sent me back into hospital for my first endoscopy. This as now November and I had had this pain for about 3 weeks. Never in that WHOLE 3 weeks did I ever not have stomach pain, it was CONSTANT. I was now under the care of a paediatric gastroenterologist, lets call her Dr. E she is still my doctor today.
The endoscopy showed villi damage but it was not correspondent with a celiac. I was put on a gluten and lactose free diet. By this stage I had not eaten for about 8 weeks and had lost 10kg. I never felt hungry and I never felt full and I still don't. After this diet change I could eat more but my appetite has never returned and I still do not eat very much.
So now we are at about January this year, the story is way more detailed but I really don't remember the exact details. They will probably come to me and I will share them once I remember them.
In January Dr. E decided it was time for another endoscopy and this time a colonoscopy as well. These two procedures were scheduled for late February and were definitely an experience to remember...more on that in another post.
These both showed that I was Lactose intolerant but that was about all I think. Dr E decided I had IBS and that was that. She said over time I would recover but I would have this for the rest of my life. We were not happy with this diagnosis so we went to another doctor but he also did not know what it was but didn't think it was IBS.
Since then I have been sent to the 'Chronic Pain Team' who have put me on a new medication and have sent me to a physiotherapist.
This is pretty much where I am up to now in a nutshell. I will try to add more details here and there as I go.
Have a great weekend:)

From the beginning
Well hello there!! My name is Charlotte, I'm 14 and I'm from Australia.
My story starts last October. To be precise the 27th. I woke up with stomach pains. I had never had these pains before nor had I ever had any type of stomach pain before and I had no idea what had caused them. My mum said to just have the day of school and rest and I would be well by the morning.
The next morning came and they were still there, just around my belly button. They hadn't moved and weren't getting any better. My mum decided it was time to see a doctor and so of we went to the GP.
The GP said she could not see anything that could be causing them and the only thing she could up with was something wrong with my appendix. She though this was unlikely as I was not guarding. I was told that if they were to get worse I would need to go to the hospital. Never in a million years did we think this would happen!! She also said I needed to start eating and drinking again as I hadn't eaten since Wednesday and it was now Thursday afternoon.
That evening I was screaming, shaking and crying in pain. Mum decided that it was time to go to hospital and so there we were waiting in the hospital at 11pm Thursday night.
This is were it all really begins...but more on that tomorrow!!
